Research and Investigation of Nuclear Installation Safety Aiming to ensure safety of nuclear fuel cycle facilities, NUSTEC collects information on accidents and malfunctions in these facilities in Japan and abroad. This information is analyzed and evaluated to learn the causes leading to the events, the extent of their influence, and the lessons learned. NUSTEC has been developing a database based on the information and disseminate it through the Internet to the general public. (IINET URL : http://www.n-iinet.ne.jp/). NUSTEC, also carries out research and investigation to prepare control manuals such as exposed dose assessment for radiation hazards prevention which are necessary for incorporating the recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) into domestic laws. |
