Confirmation of Radioisotope Transport
Confirmation is required for packages of radioisotopes or items contaminated by radioisotopes, as well as their means of transport, whether they are in compliance with the technical standards prescribed by the relevant laws, when radioisotopes loaded exceeds the limit specified. Consignors and carriers who are going to ship radioisotopes by land by the approved type of packaging and loading methods, can request NUSTEC the confirmation.

National Examination and Training Course
Users of radioisotopes/radiation generators, sellers of radioisotopes, disposers of radioactive waste, and leasers of radioisotopes are obliged to nominate at least one radiation protection supervisor (from among licensed ones) at each establishment, for the purpose of radiation hazards prevention, and must inform MEXT of his or their names. There are two categories of radiation protection supervisors: 1st-class (senior) and 2nd-class (junior). Both kinds of licenses are given to those who have passed relevant national examination and finished relevant training course. NUSTEC provides both examinations and 2nd-class training courses. The training courses are provided at NUSTEC Training Center for Radiation Protection Supervisors.
